This course delivers a deeper understanding of rights and provides you with the tools to get to Silver.
Explore ways of developing an ethos of mutual respect for rights through rights-based agreements, consider participation rights, and discover practical ways to meet the RRSA standards to be ready for your Silver: Rights Aware accreditation.
Achieving Silver courses builds on the work done in Achieving Bronze.  This course is designed for RRSA leaders from schools who have started their journey towards the second stage of the Rights Respecting Schools Award, Silver: Rights Aware, and are familiar with the RRSA. Your school will have ideally achieved the first stage of the Award, Bronze: Rights Committed.
Objectives are:
- To deepen understanding of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. ​
- To develop your knowledge and understanding of ​:
- Pupil voice and participation ​
- Classroom ethos and relationships ​
- Global citizenship and sustainable development in the context of a Rights Respecting School.​
- To review and develop your action plan for Silver. ​
- To help you prepare for Silver accreditation.
Course duration:Â 3 hours (1:30 – 4:30pm)
Cost: This training is included in your membership fee and is free for state primary and secondary schools in Scotland. If your school has not paid your membership fee, training costs are £210 per participant. Platform: Sessions will take place online, via Microsoft Teams. You will not need to download any special software to access, you will be able to join the session through your web browser.
