How to fundraise to help protect children in emergencies
You can fundraise for UNICEF at any time of year and the money you raise will support our vital work for children everywhere.
If you would like to fundraise to specifically help protect children in emergencies or if you would like to raise money for a current emergency public appeal, the easiest way to do this is through an online fundraising page (JustGiving/Crowdfunder/Go Fund Me).
Set up a fundraising page for our Children’s Emergency Fund
When a crisis hits, our Children’s Emergency Fund means we are always ready – even before we’ve launched an appeal. Children are always hardest hit by emergencies, losing their lives, parents, homes and schools, and so it is vital that we help them as soon as possible.
In crisis, this vital fund helps us to reach children and families fast, with whatever they need, be that life-saving therapeutic food, water and sanitation, temporary schools and clinics, and so much more.
To raise money for this fund, head to our JustGiving appeal page and simply hit the ‘start fundraising’ button to create your own fundraising page. All funds will help us reach children affected by disasters like the recent earthquake in Morocco.
Alternatively, you can make a direct donation to our Children’s Emergency Fund.
Fundraise for specific emergency appeals
When a large-scale emergency occurs, a UNICEF online fundraising page may be created. You can either donate directly to this page or set up your own fundraising page linked from the page. You can find our current appeal pages listed below.
Other useful fundraising information
Fundraising via other online fundraising platforms
If you’ve set up a fundraising page via JustGiving, the funds will automatically come directly to us. If you’ve set up a page via Go Fund Me or Crowdfunder, funds will only automatically come directly to us if you’ve selected ‘UNICEF UK’ as your chosen charity. If you’re fundraising via another online fundraising platform, please get in touch so we can discuss how to send your funds in.
Offline donations
If you would like to send in any offline donations, please make it clear that you’d like these donations restricted to a specific emergency appeal. Please use our money return form when sending in your donations.
