Sudan Emergency Appeal: what is happening in Sudan?
Armed violence in Sudan is putting children at risk. 11 million people have been driven from their homes. Children have been killed, injured and displaced.
Right now, 13.6 million children need urgent protection and assistance.
Widespread gender-based violence is destroying the lives of women and girls in Sudan. It is estimated that 25% of the population is at risk.
Children and families in Sudan need urgent protection and humanitarian aid. Donate to our Sudan appeal today.
How will my donation help children in Sudan?
Our priorities are the safe passage, protection, and access to services for children, families and our staff across Sudan.
A single donation of £25 could help provide emergency supplies like safe water, maternity kits and essential vaccines.
We’re expanding our existing work to support children without parents or guardians and displaced families. We’re securing and mobilising life-saving supplies, and we’re helping treat injuries while getting emergency education services, clean water and mental health support to children.
We are committed to staying to support the children of Sudan for as long as they need us. Please help us to reach children and families affected by this devastating conflict.

UNICEF’s Support in Sudan
We are working alongside our partners to establish safe spaces that provide gender-based violence services for survivors. In addition, we are integrating these services into existing services at health centers and mobile clinics while providing relevant medical supplies.
Some of the following types of support we have provided to children and families include:
- Rolling out malaria vaccines for the first time in the country to benefit children under the age of 12 months.
- Reaching millions of families with safe drinking water.
- Providing malnutrition screening to children so they can receive life-saving treatment.
- Offering psychosocial counselling, education and protection services to millions of children and their caregivers.
- Supporting families with cash, information and other critical services.
We are just scratching the surface. There are still millions of children and families who haven’t received any support. With your kind donation, we can help more children and families affected by this conflict. Please make a donation today

In the unlikely event that the funds raised exceed what’s needed for the Sudan emergency appeal, or if funds cannot viably be directed to this appeal, we will direct funds to support our work to help keep children safe and healthy around the world.
Donating Items and Volunteering
