How to help
Myanmar?

How can I help Myanmar?

The devastating earthquake that struck on 28 March 2025 comes on top of a deep crisis for children in Myanmar. Escalating conflict in recent years has sharply reduced access to critical life-saving services, particularly for vulnerable children and women.

The earthquake has dramatically increased the urgent needs of children in Myanmar. The six most impacted regions in Myanmar are home to over 28 million people, including an estimated 6.7 million children.

If you are thinking ‘how can I help Myanmar’, search no further and explore the ideas below on how you can make an impact.

1. Donate to our appeal

The best way you can support children and families in Myanmar is by donating to our appeal

Initial supplies have been dispatched and more are ready to go to the earthquake-affected areas. We are engaging with local partners and communities to respond to immediate life-saving needs.

Some of the other ways we are responding include:

  • Providing emergency cash transfers to support affected families.
  • Supporting children with individual education packages.
  • Providing access to safe water.

UNICEF has been working in Myanmar since 1950 supporting children, with help of supporter donations and partners.

Please help us reach more children by donating to our Myanmar Earthquake Appeal.

Currently, with the earthquake causing widespread destruction and urgent humanitarian need, it has only added to the urgent needs of children.

We need your voice to urge the government to prioritise children’s rights and protect them. You can join thousands of supporters who have signed the Futures at Risk petitiontocall for the UK government to protect children’s futures.

5. Join Our Philanthropist Network
