Donate and keep a child safe

Last updated: 18/12/2024

At UNICEF, we are among the first to respond to humanitarian crises, from Ukraine to Gaza, wherever a child’s right to a happy, safe and healthy childhood is threatened.

Whether you decide to make a one-off donation or pledge a monthly gift, we promise that your charity donation will be used to help keep a child safe.

The impact of your donation could help:

  • Save a child who might otherwise have died from malaria, cholera, or typhoid.
  • Build a temporary school where children can learn and find sanctuary in an emergency.
  • Provide a malnourished child with the vital nutrients they need to recover.

Whatever support you decide to give, you will be helping us make a more child-friendly world for every child.

Read more about the impact of last year’s donations in UNICEF’s Annual Report 2023.

9.3 Million

In 2023, UNICEF and our partners reached 9.3 million children with life-saving treatment for severe malnutrition.

190 countries

With your help, we work to protect children and their rights in over 190 countries.

£39

A donation of £39 could help keep health workers protected in situations where they may be at risk.

Why donate monthly?

As a children’s charity, we work with families, communities and governments in over 190 countries to tackle the root causes and symptoms of problems directly affecting children.

We work to deliver long-term support that creates lasting change for children as well as addressing their immediate needs.

When you set up a regular donation you become part of that long-term work to keep the world’s most vulnerable children safe. For example, an £18 monthly donation could protect 100 children against tuberculosis – for life.

Even a small monthly donation of £7 could help provide life-saving rehydration salts to treat 23 children suffering from acute diarrhoea.

If you’re in the UK and would prefer to make a donation by phone, you can call our dedicated donation line: 0300 330 5699. For other ways you can donate please refer to our Donation FAQs.

Why donate to UNICEF?

We have done more to influence laws, policies and practices to help protect children than any other charity. As an organisation we:

  • Are the biggest provider of vaccines for children in the world.
  • Work with governments, communities and parents to enable access to a quality education for every child.
  • Provide life-saving therapeutic food for millions of children each year through our nutrition programmes.

We receive no funding from the UN budget. That means we rely entirely on voluntary donations like yours to fund our vital work to protect children in danger and build a safer world for tomorrow’s children.

Your charity donation will go to support our work around the world.
