In UNICEF, the ‘C’ stands for children. Children are at the heart of everything we do. The new UK government has a critical opportunity to put children and their rights at the heart of their priorities. Helping children everywhere to not just survive, but thrive.  

We’re asking the new UK Government to:

• Put children’s rights at the heart of everything they do by:
  • Championing the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
  • Protecting the rights of the most marginalised children.
  • Delivering a rights-based approach in schools, hospitals and communities.

• Deliver a Global Growing Up Promise – to help the world’s poorest children get the best start in life by:
  • Increasing funding for health, nutrition and education.
  • Using UK’s leadership to protect children from the climate crisis.
  • Championing children’s rights as leaders in global conversations.

• Commit to a Baby and Toddler Guarantee – so that every child in the UK gets what they need in early childhood including:
  • Local, affordable, quality early education and childcare.
  • Financial support that works when they need it.
  • Quality mental health support.
