Durable Solutions for Trafficked Children
The UN Committee on the Rights of the Child states that the aim in addressing the future of an unaccompanied migrant child, including those who have been trafficked, is to identify a durable solution: a return to the child’s country of origin; settlement and integration into the host country; or relocation to a third country.
This Unicef UK report, based on interviews with 30 stakeholders who work with trafficked children in the UK, explores the way in which the current immigration, criminal justice and social care systems work for trafficked children, and where change is required to ensure that every child has the support and protection they need.
