Immunisation has been pivotal for the rights and wellbeing of women and girls. We know that vaccinations result in better health, which in turn supports gender equality by enabling women and girls to learn, work and take an active role in their communities.

Immunisation has been a great success story. However, recent backsliding in coverage due to the COVID-19 pandemic and other ongoing crises caused by conflict and climate shocks have shown this progress is at risk.

This report sets out the role of immunisation in protecting the rights and wellbeing of women and girls, and what the UK Government can do to support these vital programmes.
