Donate to Lebanon to provide humanitarian aid for children and families in crisis

Last updated: 09/12/2024

Despite the ceasefire agreement made on 27 November between Lebanon and Israel, the situation remains fragile and over 1 million people continue to be impacted by the recent violence. Over a third of them are children.

Since 23 September 2024, almost 4,000 people have been killed including over 200 children. In recent weeks there, there has been a mass movement of people returning to their homes, often in areas where there is the risk of unexploded ordnance.

Children in both Lebanon and Israel are navigating constant threats to their safety and well-being. No child deserves to experience this terror.

We are calling for the de-escalation of hostilities. We also urge all parties to uphold international humanitarian law, and the upholding of the ceasefire agreement.

Please donate to Lebanon to provide vital aid and support to children and families.

What are children experiencing in Lebanon?

  • Children and families are the impact of the recent violence, amid a fragile ceasefire agreement on 27 November.
  • September to November 2024 was the deadliest period Lebanon has experienced since 2006, with an average of more than 3 children killed every day for over two months.
  • More than 620,000 people have fled to Syria due to the airstrikes, a neighbouring country also in crisis.
  • Over 100,000 housing units have been partially or fully damaged.
  • Children have begun to return to education despite the constant disruptions. There was a delayed start to the school year and closures during widespread attacks over the weekend of 15-17 November.
  • 36 water facilities have been damaged, affecting the water supply to 390,000 people.
  • 98 Primary Health Care Centres have closed, so many children have reduced access to healthcare.

You can help us support children in Lebanon so they can survive and recover from these circumstances. Please donate today.

How are we providing aid and support to children in Lebanon?

We have supported 695 shelters providing services and essential relief items including water, blankets, mattresses, hygiene kits, dignity kits and baby kits.

Now, with the help of our partners, our ongoing support will mainly focus on children and families displaced by the conflict. We want to help ensure:

  • Safe water supplies for 1 million people.
  • Continued learning for 500,000 children, including children with disabilities.
  • Cash assistance for vulnerable families.
  • Access to healthcare through Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) to provide medical consultations, immediate medical assistance, and immunization.

We need your support to reach more children and families with life-saving humanitarian aid. Donate to our Lebanon crisis appeal help provide urgent relief.

How to help Lebanon

We are the world’s largest humanitarian organisation for children and we have been in Lebanon and neighbouring Syria offering critical support to children and families.

One of the most impactful ways you can support is by signing up to give a monthly donation. For the first 6 months, your monthly Lebanon donation will fund our work to support children in Lebanon. After that, donations will go to support our work around the world.

In the unlikely event that the funds raised exceed what’s needed for the Lebanon emergency appeal, or if funds cannot viably be directed to this appeal, we will direct funds to support our work in keeping children safe and healthy around the world.
