Enough Food for Everyone IF is a large coalition of charities calling for a fairer food system. UNICEF UK is a member, alongside organisations like Oxfam, Save the Children and ActionAid.
This year, we’re all coming come together to make 2013 the beginning of the end of the hunger crisis.
The world has enough food for everyone, but not everyone has enough food to live.
IF we join together, we could be the first generation to end global hunger.
What are we asking for?
We want our leaders to make these four big IFs happen:
- IF we give enough life-saving aid and find new ways to support poor countries to cope with climate change – children will stop dying from hunger. The UK Government has committed to provide 0.7% of our national income on aid and promised new and additional money to help poor countries cope with climate change - it must keep both these promises.
- IF governments close tax loopholes to ensure companies pay their fair share of taxes in poor countries, millions of children will not have to go hungry.
- IF we stop farmers losing their land, we can make sure crops are used to feed families - not fuel cars. The poorest farmers are losing their land to big companies, who are increasingly growing crops for fuel rather than food, leaving families unable to feed their children.
- IF we ensure that governments and companies are honest about the things they do that stop children from having enough food.
Together, we can make IF happen.
