This month’s supporter of the month is Stephen Smith.
Stephen’s whole family are actively involved in fundraising for UNICEF and his daughter Ruby was previously UNICEF UK’s Fundraiser of the Year. Previously the family have organised and taken part in a sponsored walk along the length of Hadrians Wall, while Stephen himself has run the London Marathon, done the Coast 2 Coast bike ride and the Great North Swim – all in aid of UNICEF UK.
In the last year Stephen has gone even further and committed himself to his incredible ‘Half a challenge’ for UNICEF UK, competing in 11 half marathons and one full marathon between November 2012 and May 2013.
"It has been very hard work," says Stephen. "Some of the races earlier in the year were in the snow, and then the Milton Keynes marathon was in 22 degree heat!"
Through his challenge and fundraising efforts Stephen has raised over £1,000 for children all over the world, through the support of his family, friends, church and the school where he works.
We'd like to say a massive thank you to Stephen, his supporters and all of our amazing fundraisers.
UNICEF is entirely funded by voluntary contributions, so when we say we couldn't do it without you, we really mean it!
Every single donation and fundraising effort makes a difference to the world's children and we value all our supporters enormously.
